PLEASE READ: Regarding the league, me, and our future

Anyways, I'd like to sincerely apologize for doing absolutely nothing. There's not really much of any excuse. But instead of reiterating what I said in the video, I'll need teams confirming that they will participate in the IL here and/or on my skype. If you'd like to help with the league please PM me here and ask for my skype if you do not have it.

I'm glad you saw my post. Out of all people that complained about, you were the only one that took matters into your own hands and took such a large weight on your shoulders. I have a lot of respect for you because of this. It's difficult for one to lead something so massive with a lot going on, so proper distribution of roles it key. I'm only mentioning Council as an example solely due to personal experience. As Council, we are unable to discuss anything that does not relate to accusations. If we were able to address structural issues or have enough power to slap things/people into place, that would be easier for the both of us.

Concerning the season itself, I'm prone to restarting it; however, I recently thought of completing only 5 weeks of this current one and ending it off there. This could be considered "Pre-Season" which could help to determine team placements for next season. It's simply cutting a season down to half and making it a thing of the past so we can move on quicker. Thank you for the response. Again, I don't want to seem like I'm pointing anybody out, especially not you, but just know that I am always available to help!

In the past couple months, Kappie (BlackMagic) has done a crapton of work and should take over my division since I don't have the same enthusiasm for this league that I did when we were starting. Thanks Kappie for doing the work for which you probably haven't yet been formally thanked or recognized.

With this sort of preseason idea, I'd feel comfortable into a WCL-structured league then because it at least accommodates and takes into consideration the results of those that have played. Thanks for the tip.

FU will want to finish its season, but some things need to change before we go into another season with this IL. Because as it is right now, we would prefer another league.

To make a couple of suggestions, and don't take this the wrong way because you guys are trying your best, I think the staff needs to be more on top of things. In our division, three weeks haven't been added into the results yet. Three. If you want to be just like the old WCL or even better, you need to make sure every single staff thats leading these divisions are on top of everything, because some of us are getting fed up with the inactivity of the staff. I'm just giving constructive criticism here.

The trolling rule completely ruins the idea of the league as well. Some may agree with me, trolling opens up to a new style of play, this is definitely true. But forcing the new style of play in it? PLEASE remember, this is an add-on to how it used to be. It should be treated like an add-on. Instead of having the rule for both hosts to agree to NO trolling, how about hosts agree TO trolling? What is wrong with that? If you don't wanna take away the idea of trolling completely like they did in WCL (which settled disputes between teams as it is now), then how about making it so both teams wanna troll? This makes these wars very un-enjoyable when the other team wants to troll and we can do nothing about it.

The orginzation of this is also self explanatory. Just look at it.

If this league doesn't make some changes on what I just said, then I'm afraid Friends United would prefer trying out a new league and a style of play thats much better for us with better staff. Some clans may also agree, but that is my thoughts. If you DO make these changes however, we can be a little more moviated to committing to this league. But as it is, its not as fun as it used to be. That's just a simple fact.

You're lucky, in the Goomba conference, 5 weeks haven't been added into the results yet .
Team D'OEUF is OK to continue to play in this competition, but as I said in an other thread, I don't think all D'OEUF members will accept a restart of the season ... But if it's necessary, we'll accept it .
And I agree with Brad concerning the trolling rule, in D3 there are no sandbag and no troll ( for the moment ), but I think trolling must be prohibited, or allowed only when the 2 teams are OK to play with it .

Seeing that Speed of Sound has already replaced New Generation Watta in D4, Koopa Conference, I guess you can say we're up to redo matches.

Insane Team will play that Season to the end But restarting would be a big problem..

A7 should be alright finishing the season, just curious to see what will happen if there's a complete restart.

Just as a confirmation for things, the following will happen this coming season:

- Inactive/incapable staff will be replaced with those that have been asking to help

So imo this deserves a 2nd chance. Avail doesn't have any problem with restarting, but that's honestly cuz we've been doing really bad so far in this season. And I can help if you want, but I won't be available for the 3 coming weeks, since I'm going on vacation.

I agree that trolling should be prohibited. It does not help to develop a good game.

I think you should make the couple of changes in the ruleset now, (especially being the trolling) and finish the season. Or else clans that may be undefeateed in their division will be very frustrated and think their wars were for nothing.

No problem with criticism, especially some that is to be expected and that is just plain true. Like I said before, we've received a lot of people wanting to help, so the staff would be replaced with those wanting to help, both from teams already here and those that are entering.

Regarding trolling, we don't force people to play with it. There's nowhere that we say you must troll or anything close to that. All the league has done is open this playstyle up just in the case that, although a team might prefer not doing it, they would considering switching to it midwar if everything is going badly. On top of that, if there's just an all out bagging "duel" of sorts, and a certain bagger consistently gets the shock in 9th, there's nothing the other bagger can do if there was no trolling to be allowed. Trolling gives something for the other bagger to do so they aren't completely useless to the team.

As to how it used to be, rules against trolling were only brought up when people started getting hurt about getting hit out of their top spots. If both teams want to agree to not troll before the war that is fine by any standard of course, but playstyles should not be taken out just because opposing parties don't like that playstyle.

They'll also be letting some of their team members that are known hackers in the past such as Javo and Greg (or at least I'm guessing considering the league is founded by XIII members and I've heard such from others). They get to do waht they want to do but that will not stop the IL from progressing in the league's future.

Would be up for it, but that would mean rushing teams to replay matches against teams replacing dead teams. What I have in mind wouldn't disregard what teams have done so far though. If we were to use the first 5 weeks as a preseason, we could use results to decide seedings for a next, complete WCL-formatted season.

merciful isn't sure, but we have decided only to enter in one league. We aren't sure which one yet.

For the trolling rule.
The two main reasons trolling shouldn't be banned totally imo:

1) If you're playing someone who guru's the shock or just someone whose lucky with 9th place shocks you are completely useless.
2) It's an effective strategy against hackers who haven't been caught yet since if there is a hacking player in the front they can't guru an item to help them like they could in any other scenario.

I understand that many people don't like trolling since it hinders their game. But blue shells do the same to first, so should we put a ban on tossing a blue?

As much as I'm for trolling to be part of the game since there's no reason to ban it besides "I don't like it" I want a league to be able to have maximum participants and activity and to do that the rule will have to change. It seems too challenging to agree on skype to not troll, but then again, people could also edit quotes and start drama. I think the trolling rule should go back to the host decides whether trolling is allowed or not therefore teams that like the play style trolling can play 50% with trolling (Assuming no one else in the division trolls) and teams that do not troll can play 90% of their matches w/o trolling (Assuming no one else trolls.) I think that's more than a fair compromise instead of totally just banning trolling or making both teams agree.

As for the structure, The sports conference / play-off style was an interesting idea and I would've like to see how it went. However, the fact that weaker teams have to play stronger teams probably resulted in many more ragequits from the league and lowering teams motivation who couldn't keep up. If you want to keep the playoff structure though you could maybe try top 4 in the division go into play offs? (6 teams in each division and have season and play off awards?).

As for restarting the league. I personally really like Vik's idea of this being some type of pre-season to determine the outcome of the actual season's seedings. I know many clans want / don't want this to happen solely based on their record (Flow's teams are 4-1 and 3-2 btw). But if a clan wants a pre-season award that bad, I'm sure someone would be willing to make one. By doing this, we could have a real league with not so many vacancies. The idea of filling the gaps is ideal but it's not realistic. I mean, there's 5 vacancies in the first divisions in total and not to sound rude or anything, but I can only see 1 or maybe 2 teams that would be able to compete with the top divisions so there would still be many missing matches. What I want and what I think most people want is a season with no forfeit matches happening every week in most of the divisions.

FInally, for the lack of staff problem, I'd be willing to also become a division admin since I think the tables are the same as the WCL ones and I already know how to work them and I can update that stuff pretty quickly since I'm practically never busy on Sundays.

EDIT: I also wanted to bring up something in the rules under the disconnection category:

IV. Disconnections, Player Compensation

a. Hosts must disconnect after each race a person disconnects in unless they have disconnected more than two times and/or if there is consent to continue.

for this rule, I have seen discussions on whether it means a certain individual on a team or the whole team in general. The word "they" can make it be perceived as both ways. I think it should be changed the the whole clan and not just an individual or a clan can have potentially 10 room restarts in one war. (This could used as a stalling strategy before the war to wait for another member or if a team had a couple bad races they could stall to try and swing the momentum).

Of course there would be the random races where wifi just or someone's connection just shits hard like in the Fw vs AR2 match where 6 people disconnected on rBC64 and we mutually agreed to not count that race. Races like these should not count as anyone restarts if there are multiple disconnections from EACH team.

And about us,i'm pretty sure you got scared because someone told you about this and now you're making the IL be better. We started making the league because this was really die and with a lot of fails,and that inactive staff never updating the tables and ignoring the league. This was die a week ago. Also about this forum and the banner of the forum,all of this is from other clans,you could make something new and original,but i think you're too lazy to do it,let's see.

I don't want any problem,i just wanted to make a decent league with a decent staff and with everything going fine because this community isn't going to be alive much more time,and some of the leagues will be probably the last.

in regards of il, cv is currently undefeated in division 2 but i think most of us wont mind restarting even though itll probably be best to continue the season even with the horrible events. but just to make sure contact luke on skype (visiterjr1) to comfirm if we're going continue which i assume we will

yusuke, you cant make a "decent" league with a "decent" staff when all of your staff were previous caught hackers, let alone nobody would want to register in a league when a rule is already broken; the rule of hacking adressing the staff, nearly everyone in it is suspicious of hacking and half of the staff is already caught, so with some logic who would be interested in registering when the staff dont even follow the league rules. theres no point to start, simple as that.

Yes, and that time that I hacked is now going on it's 3rd year anniversary! Thanks for bringing that up. However, Javo and Greg (who you would be allowing to play) have not even been off the hook for less than a year, and for Javo he hacked juts before the start of the league. I believe there is at least a slim difference among us.
